cotton, linen, wool, viscose, polyester, silk....HELP

I am so deeply absorbed at the moment in designing a training course on fabrics that all I can see is 3 pages of different fabrics....When I try to think of the most common fabrics, all I can see is that they are all used...I am too, too close.. Help...I need a quick lifesaver outta here. What are your first five fabrics you think of.

Helloooo Meg. Thanks for looking me up. I feel like I know you since Sally and I compared notes. The blogging world is very small isn't it? Looking forward to reading lots more.

Cheers,

Penny (MissyP)

PS. Off the top of my head - cotton, linen, polyester, viscose/rayon, wool

Oh thank you everyone! I had to pull my head out of the terylene tub & I have been snipping little samples of many bits of fabrics...You have all pretty much chosen the same ones, so I am going to go with 6 for the powerpoint: cotton, wool, polyester, linen, viscose and silk. Thank you so much for helping get unstuck from viyella, vicuna, velvet, velour, tweed, tulle, tricot....need I go on!
